My feelings on generative ai.
It is deeply unethical in many ways, including the data centres using up and causing water shortages, and polluting and poisoning nearby communities. They spread misinformation, use labour exploitation (especially in the global south, for content moderation & model training), repeat bigoted biases in data, have data privacy issues, and repeated usage degrades skill and learning ability. Art/writing "created" by generative ai is built on databases of stolen work, creating meaningless outputs that may look okay on the surface but have no intention and have very little use other than being meaningless content for the capitalism machine, at best.
